Is it legal?

Yes. Blu Eye only tells you that an emergency service vehicle is nearby — it cannot tell you which type, and it cannot decode any radio message. In the words of the manufacturer, Target Automotive B.V.: “Target Blu-Eye is a TETRA radio receiver, not a police detector”.

    Yes. The Target Blu Eye 2 is legal to use in the UK, because the system only informs the driver that an emergency service vehicle is nearby.

    The Target Blu Eye cannot differentiate between police vehicles, ambulances or fire engines, so you are warned of all types of emergency vehicle in the same way.

    We would like to emphasise that the Target Blue Eye is not able to decode the radio messages broadcast by the Airwave network.
